The Garden Strathcona
You may have stopped by The Garden Strathcona for a coffee and bite, but not many people know that above the cafe is a versatile studio space with serene floor-to-ceiling windows and lush greenery that make the space perfect for smaller, intimate gatherings. With a 1,200-square-foot open floor plan, the Garden Strathcona’s second-floor space also boasts unique industrial features and modern furnishings.
Ideal for events up to 60 guests, the studio space also offers a high quality sound system, wifi, and can be booked alongside the downstairs cafe to accommodate larger events.
Liberty Distillery
Since their official opening in the early 2010s, Granville Island’s Liberty Distillery has been distilling Vancouver’s first hand-crafted premium spirits, made from 100% BC organic grain. A working distillery and bar with a private tasting room and cocktail lounge, Liberty Distillery’s warm, intimate space and old-timey atmosphere is ideal for a post-work social. Their elegant tasting room boasts an antique carved wood bar from the 19th century and elevated, Prohibition-inspired decor.
Whether you’re hosting an intimate cocktail party or holiday event of up to 35 guests, Liberty Distillery also offers many extra amenities, including an in-house sound system, custom cocktail menus, and free parking after 7pm.
Soundhouse Studios
A rehearsal studio by day, Soundhouse Studios is home to several upscale multipurpose rooms that are available for small events, conferences, staff parties, and more. Located just outside of Downtown Vancouver, The Mezzanine at Soundhouse Studios offers 1,800 square feet of creative space with bright windows, original wooden beams, an open-rafter ceiling, and lots of natural light.
With a completely open and flexible floor plan, Soundhouse Studios can host up to 120 guests. The space also offers a PA system, projector screens, and more as add-ons.
Woodbridge Ponds
A beautiful and serene outdoor venue with creative water features, Koi feeding ponds, and 100 different species of pond plants, Woodbridge Ponds in Abbotsford is a pond plant nursery with an unforgettable garden space for small-sized events. A hidden oasis, the Secret Garden has become an event favourite in the Fraser Valley. Trees are decorated with twinkling lights and caped with elegant chiffon, while floating candles surround the gorgeous outdoor space.
Since Vancouver weather is notoriously undependendable, the event can be moved to their indoor garden and covered patio in times of rain to keep the party going. Ideal for events up to 140 guests, Woodbridge Ponds offers a truly special ambiance.
