A relaxed, end-of-summer alfresco garden party wedding surrounded by friends, family and their own children. This was the vision that Corinne and Jamie had for this early September backyard wedding. C + J wanted to put the focus for their day on the people they love, and to make everyone feel welcome in their home. Upon arrival, a ‘Pepino’s Revenge’ – a fun and playful tequila cocktail…refreshing, whimsical and a drink that says, ‘lets get the party started!’ – was offered with an invitation to stroll the beautiful backyard.
The wedding catering menu for Corinne and Jaime was a series of grazing stations were presented throughout the afternoon and evening. The beauty of a grazing stations menu, unlike a typical buffet, is the food rolls out at a leisurely pace rather than all at once thus avoiding the “chow Line” scramble. The first grazing station started with grilled jumbo prawns and assorted dips, BC cheeses and ‘Oyama’ charcuterie.
A little later in the evening, two outdoor grazing stations were set up and offered BBQ Flank Steak, Orechiette with Tomato-Basil Sauce, Mac ‘N Cheese and Kale & Brussels Sprout Salad and Cedar Plank Salmon, Grilled Vegetables, Fior de Latte & Heirloom Tomato Salad, Quinoa Tabouleh Salad, Gathered Greens Salad, and Artisan Breads & Butter. A menu to please both the kids and the adults!
Then later, a dessert buffet set up in the tent, which offered Mini Fruit Skewers, Chocolate Caramel Fleur de Sel Tartlets, Tiramisu ‘Mason Jars’ and Strawberry Shortcake ‘Mason Jar’s. Fun, whimsical and playful. A late night snack of Sliders & Fries kept everyone’s energy up for dancing…and dance they did.
A perfect ending for this gorgeous, warm and lovely couple and their kids. Whoo hoo!
