There are some wedding locations in the Lower Mainland that require an extra layer of logistics and Bowen Island is certainly one of them, but the challenges are so worth it! While the distance is close in relative terms, coordinating staff and ferries takes a little doing. This was gorgeous mid-summer wedding that we got to be a part of – an insanely beautiful Bowen Island location for C + E’s big day, with tables stretched out on a forest road nestled into the trees. Dappled light, whispering breezes…we can almost swear we saw faeries! And with the groom being Irish, well, why not?
C + E’s ceremony was on the private beach, followed by tray passed hors d’oeuvres, cheese & charcuterie, a raw bar and a couple of crisp, cool signature cocktails. Guests then made their way through the woods to the dinner reception area, and were offered champagne prior to taking their seats. A leisurely family-style dinner followed, with absolutely everything ethically sourced, and with many of the vegetables coming directly from the bride’s own garden.
