Getting Cheesy with Savoury City!

Sonny had Cher, Dean Martin had Jerry Lewis, Tom had Jerry, Hall had Oats, and Peanut Butter had Jelly. What am I getting at? Most things are better with a partner! Indeed, finding the right partner in life or in business is key to success!

Partnership Perfection

Of course, most people know that Savoury City is owned and operated by partners in life and business, Blaine Arnot and Donna Wadsworth. What makes this partnership work so well is that they both bring their respective and unique talents, creating a symbiosis unparalleled in the custom catering world.

The best partnerships work in this fashion, one strengthening the other, working in concert to achieve the highest levels of perfection.

Friends of Cheese!

Donna and Blaine know this. And this is why they seek external partnerships that can help them achieve the very best that custom catering can offer. For Donna and Blaine, it’s about a commitment to offering the highest possible quality produce to their beloved customers. If they can’t make it themselves, they will find a partner that does it better than anyone else in the city! So, when it comes to cheese, Savoury City partnered with none other than the iconic Les Amis Du Fromage!

Les Amis Du Fromage

If you have never heard of Les Amis Du Fromage, it’s possible you’ve been living under a rock or are new to Vancouver. When it comes to cheese, there simply is no better fromagerie in the city! In fact, Les Amis was voted “Best Cheese Shop” by readers of The Georgia Straight, The Westender and The Courier, and has been awarded Vancouver Magazine’s Restaurant Award for Top Food Supplier to Vancouver’s best restaurants and hotels! Anyone who has had the pleasure to sample their cheeses will understand. This is the kind of cheese that will change your life–and also ruin you for supermarket cheese forever.

To say that current owners, Allison Spurrell and Joe Chaput, are serious about cheese is an understatement.

The Best in the City

According to their website, “Allison Spurrell has been in the retail cheese industry since 1987, when she founded the award-winning Vancouver cheese shop les amis du FROMAGE with her mother Alice Spurrell. Allison also supplies cheese to the chefs of Vancouver’s best restaurants and hotels and has been Voted “Supplier of the Year” by Vancouver Magazine. She is a member of both the Confrérie des Chevaliers des Fromages de France and the Guilde des Fromagers Confrerie du Saint-Uguzon.

Partner Joe Chaput is no cheese slouch either! He’s “been with les amis du FROMAGE for nearly 20 years. A veteran in the food industry, Joe began his career in commercial kitchens in 1984. Having cooked at some of Vancouver’s finest restaurants and hotels, he has been a Red Seal certified chef since 1992. Joe is passionate about all things food and wine. He is a member of the Guilde des Fromagers Confrerie du Saint-Uguzon.”

It’s Not Just Gouda. It’s Great!

With partners like Allison and Joe, you can rest assured that when you order a cheese platter from Savoury City, your guests will be in cheesy heaven! Just one caveat: you may want to order a big platter as your guests will be making several trips to the cheese table!
