20 Jan The Pleasures of Plated
Netflix and Plated Dinners
So you’ve just binge-watched the latest season of “The Crown” and now you absolutely need your next event to be a plated affair! A Buffet-style dinner just won’t cut it anymore! I mean, would Princess Margaret have to stand up and wait in line to get her food! God Forbid!
A Royal Affair
While you may not be royalty, or British, or even ever visited London, there is no reason why you shouldn’t feel like a prince or princess once in a while, and we know exactly how to make your royal dreams come true! Indeed, our own head honcho, Donna Wadsworth, is known in Vancouver as the Queen of Catering–which is the closest any of us have actually come to a genuine HRH (and there is no requirement to curtsey).
Dignity. Always Dignity
While family or buffet style events are fabulous, there is something about a plated affair that is imbued with class and dignity. Just as there is a certain pleasure in dressing up in formal attire once in a while, a plated dinner is a chance to enjoy the joys of formality–a momentary escape from the mundane, the every day, the expected.
Formal but Never Stuffy
Don’t get the wrong idea. A plated dinner, while more formal, should never be confused with “stuffy.” Think Prince William and Harry, not the Queen Mother. We love creating a formal space that leaves room for an easy, fun and relaxed atmosphere, and our dishes reflect it. Playful, creative, innovative, flavourful, fresh and delightfully unexpected, but never old-fashioned or stuffy–this is not your father’s catering company!
