My mother was not what you’d call a domestic goddess. A career woman, she didn’t have much interest, or time for that matter, to spend her day cooking or cleaning. And to be honest, she didn’t want to. She’d always tell us, “I’d rather spend my free time playing tennis than cleaning and cooking for you guys!” Fair enough!
My mom, as it turns out, is not alone with regards to this rejection of domesticity. While it’s true that many people profess to love cooking, and spend hours joyfully sautéing, baking, frying, spicing and churning, many more of us would rather get a root canal.
Who Has the Time?
Indeed, the mere idea of the challenge of putting on a dinner party, with its logistics, and planning, is enough to make our collective soufflé sink, which is why so many of us opt to just go out to a restaurant with our friends instead of having them over to our homes.
Home is Where the Heart Is
Don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of wonderful restaurants in the city, but there is something special and intimate about opening your home and breaking bread with friends and family. We spend a lot of time and money renovating, decorating and landscaping our homes, which look great on Instagram posts, but we rarely invite people over to enjoy our homes with us!
But like I said, we get it. Between work, getting the kids to soccer practice, and fulfilling a myriad of commitments, who has the time?

We’ll create a bespoke menu in consultation with you that works with your flavour palate, diet and those of your guests. Why spend days stressing and preparing when you can get us to do it all for you! And the best part? NO DISHES TO WASH!
I mean, is there anything worse than looking at the pile of dirty dishes and pots and pans after your guests have left?!
Here are some sample menu suggestions for events we’ve done in the past. We’re happy to quote on these specific menus or we can create one together. These menus require service staff and aren’t suitable for drop-off.
Fresh wild salmon roasted on cedar planks with parsley, dill and chives… and garnished with roasted lemons
MARINATED GRILLED FLANK STEAK
Extra-virgin olive oil, garlic, shallot and oregano marinated flank steak, served with lime wedges, herbs and a trio of mason jar condiments of spicy chipotle chili sauce, horseradish, pickled red onions
Tender nugget and fingerling potatoes roasted in olive oil, rosemary, sea salt & pepper
CRISPY BRUSSELS SPROUTS
Hot and crispy Brussels sprouts tossed with capers, chilies and parmesan cheese
GREEN BEANS & PEAS
Garden fresh…. steamed and served warm
HANNA BROOK FARM SUMMER GREENS
Hannah Brook Farms greens and heirloom kale, with cucumbers, shaved fennel, roasted pumpkin seeds and herb tips, with white balsamic dressing
GRILLED RIB-EYE STEAK
AAA whole rib-eye…dry rubbed, then grilled to medium rare thinly sliced and served warm with a roasted shallot & red wine reduction, horseradish and assorted mustards… carved on site
BBQ CEDAR PLANK SOCKEYE SALMON
Individual filets of hook & line caught BC salmon… roasted on marinated cedar planks and served hot on garnished platters…accompanied by fresh mango chutney; and a ‘fresh cut’ olive oil, lemon and Italian flat leaf parsley sauce

With mushroom duxelles, goat’s cheese and Agassiz hazelnuts

THAI NOODLE BAR
Rice noodles tossed with cucumber, scallions, bean sprouts, mint and Thai basil. With grilled ginger & lemongrass chicken, BBQ pork, crisp wonton ribbons, peanut sauce, hot chili sauce, shredded lettuce and chopped toasted cashews. Assorted spring rolls with Asian plum sauce for dipping

With Farmhouse aged cheddar, smoked Gouda and Gruyere, served with
